Tsunacon 2012

Tsunacon 2012

On february the 12th I went to Tsunacon in Rotterdam. It was a cosplay event full of people with costumes of any kind of anime you can think of. I can tell you it was a lot of fun. The place was sold out!

I cosplay! So of course I chose a character that I liked to dress up as. The name of that anime character was: Neliel tu Oderschvank (  ネリエル・トゥ・オーデルシュヴァンク ). She is from the anime Bleach that I have never followed.. lolol. Always watched it when friends were watching.

This is her!

So that's how she looks like. It's not that hard making this cosplay. I really recommend you to not buy this outfit on the internet!!! I think it's a waist of money and it is easily hand-made. Why do I say this? Let me show you:

First I made the outfit out of an old green dress I had from the H&M. I cutted it in half and did not worried about the pattern, because it had to look like it was torn apart. ( For the people who want to know why: Neliel has two forms, a child called Nel and a grown up one called Neliel. In an episode Nel broke out of her curse of being a child and turned into her grown up "Neliel version". Correct me if I'm wrong please.) But anyhow, that dress only costed me 10 euros! If you go and look on the web that costume costs like 70 euros.....!! Check it here.

Neliel has a the number 3 on her back. I drew this to get a preview for myself with eyeliner O_O. It was pretty hard doing it by myself. But on the day of Tsunacon I did not had the 3 on my back :(. Couldn't find any permanent substance or whatsoever to draw it on my back.

The green wig is from E-bay. Only costed 20 euros I think. But it is sooooo pretty! It was a present from my boyfriend.

Then the only thing left was to make the skull she is wearing on her head. I made it the night before Tsunacon so it looked kind of awful to tell you the truth haha. Actually I made it in the morning of Tsunacon at like, 3AM! Wauw. But still think I pulled it off lolol. This is how I made it:

Out a piece of carton you can cut the form of the skull. Then roll up the horns out of paper and sticked it to the carton. Not quit a master piece but it worked. Then I used paper mache. *see picture above*

After painting and drawing it turned out like this. Kind of looks alike. But it was really a pain in the ass to get it stuck to my head! It fell of a lot of times.

The only thing left to do was the make-up. I did not practice on it or something. So in the morning of Tsunacon I searched for a picture of Neliel's face. This one:

I held it in front of me and tried to copie this look. Not hard at al. I used primer, consealer, foundation, an eyebrowpencil, a bit of green eyeshadow for my eyebrows (lol), white eyeliner, black liquid eyeliner and mascara of course. For the red line over her face I used grease paint

Now I think you wanna see the results?

TADAA!

There I was still in the car on my way to Tsunacon. I still had my jacket on because it was sooo cold and snowing outside brrrr. We arrived there around 1AM and lucky for us there wasn't any line to get in. Tsunacon was held in "Erasmus University - Erasmus Expo". It was next to my school "HES - Hoge School Rotterdam".

Here are pictures I made of cosplayers ^__^ :

Ten Ten - Naruto

Death and the robber - The Sims ( Really liked them, so funny :D )

NANA

From left to right: I really don't know who she is cosplaying but I think she was cute and she was wearing such a cool bag! > Nana - NANA > A girl from pokémon, that I don't know the name of..(I know I suck >.<) But very pretty indeed.

Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki - Naruto

Forgot the name of the anime character left -_-. But on the right you can see Alice from the game Madness Returns.

Sheik - Zelda

This are pictures of the group I was with:

And here are some pictures a classmate of me made ( Thankyou Palm ) ^__^:

 This is the photographer!

 Me as Neliel

Huyen cosplaying as a character from Souleater.

There was a lot to do also. You could enter workshops, watch anime, read manga, play video games and etc.. For example, I fell over from the awesomeness of this game:

Isn't it funny? I didn't knew there was a game of Shin Chan haha.

Here are some pictures of my cosplay:

Those were taken with a phone so the quality is a bit different. But overal I hope you liked the pictures! I will be at abunai for sure! Maybe on animecon too.
Thank you for reading and see you next time~
